Quarter-finals to begin at Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

SURFING has resumed at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Presented by Bonsoy, the fifth stop of the 2025 World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour (CT), with the women’s semi-finalists to be decided today (Saturday, April 26).

The remaining three heats of the men’s Round of 16 began at 12.05pm and will be followed by the women’s Quarterfinals and men’s Quarterfinals heats 1 and 2, with the Bells Bowl delivering bumpy, onshore surf in the four-to-five-foot range.

Anyone planning to drive to Bells Beach to watch the action is advised to stay away, however, as the public car park has been closed due to heavy rain.

The opening heat of the day will see Samuel Pupo (BRA) go head-to-head with Ian Gentil (HAW). Both surfers search for a breakthrough result in 2025 and move up the rankings and away from the Mid-season Cut line.

Two of the event big names Filipe Toledo (BRA) and Jack Robinson (AUS) will battle it out in Heat 8 of the Round of 16.

Luana Silva (BRA) will look to earn her best result of the season with a Semifinal berth at Bells Beach, but will first need to overcome part-time Bells local Lakey Peterson (USA) in the first heat of the women’s Quarterfinals.

Aussie hopeful Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) is in the hunt for her third Bells trophy and will take on Brisa Hennessy (CRC) in Quarterfinal 2 later this afternoon.

The public car park at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach has been closed due to heavy rain and will be closed until further notice.

Shuttle buses will be available to bring fans to and from the event. There is limited car parking on site on a first-come, first-served basis, which is $5 per car.

The Wave Rider Shuttle Bus will run from 9am to 5.30pm:

• Stop 1 – Rip Curl Store
• Stop 2 – Bird Rock Bar
• Stop 3 – Rip Curl Pro Event Site.
