ANGLESEA Football Netball Club has announced its naming rights partner for the 2022 season following the club’s second naming rights draw in two years.

Anglesea FNC’s home, Ellimatta Reserve, will don the moniker Great Ocean Properties Reserve for the remainder of the season after the Surf Coast-based property agency won the club’s naming rights draw Thursday among more than 60 other ticket holders.

“It’s terrific Great Ocean Properties came away with the winning ticket,” Anglesea FNC president Jamie McKenzie said.

“They’ve been a long-time supporter of the club and they have given a lot to the community.”

Anglesea’s naming rights draw method was used last season when COVID-19 continued to disrupt the Bellarine Football Netball League’s campaigns, which made acquiring a naming sponsor difficult according to the club’s president.

“We thought it would be great to give all our local businesses a chance to have full naming rights all while finding a different method of raising funds for a small club like ours,” McKenzie said.

“Last year it was Ocean Road Landscaping, a small local business, and now this year it’s another local business with an office based here in Anglesea.”

The draw strategically took place just two days before the club’s senior home openers creating much-needed buzz around the club amidst what many clubs feel will be the first full season since 2019.

“I can’t tell you how excited we are as a club to get season 2022 going,” McKenzie added.

“It’s fantastic for us to get our young players back again coupled with what looks like strong participation numbers throughout all age groups.

“It’s creating a buzz around the club for this season, and we are looking to really plug into our community this season.”

To hammer home community engagement, the Roos have released the club’s motto moving forward, ‘Our Community, Our Club’.

Anglesea FNC is always on the lookout for sponsors. Anyone or any business interested in partnering with the club can contact Jess at [email protected].
