Roos remain the team to beat in A1 Finals
FOUR teams remain in the race to be crowned the best on the Bellarine as semi-final action gets under way in the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association (BPCA).
The BPCA’s A1 finals race has long been solidified with three wins separating fourth and fifth in the standings, with Anglesea, Barwon Heads, Armstrong Creek, and Barrabool to lock horns in the semi-finals.
Anglesea’s hopes of a fifth-straight flag will be tested when it hosts a well-drilled Barrabool outfit in a rematch of last year’s semi-final over Saturday and Sunday at Ellimatta Reserve.
Two new sides will enter the semi-finals this season, an indicator of the breadth of talent on display in the BPCA’s topflight.
Barwon Heads will play A1 finals in its first season back in the BPCA’s top division, while opponents Armstrong Creek will make its first ever A1 finals appearance in the club’s history.
The two sides will decide who will take part in this year’s Grand Final at RT Fuller Oval.
