Saints supreme as St Mary’s go back to back
A DAZZLING display of speed and precision has put St Mary’s back on the Geelong Football League (GFL) podium at a windy St Albans Reserve, defeating Leopold 13.13.91 to 6.10.46 in today’s (Saturday, September 17) Grand Final.

Three more majors to the way of the Saints all but sealed it as Blue and Green supporters celebrated a 45-point win and a sixth trophy heading to Anthony Costa Oval.
Joe Maishman and Trent McMullan were the Saints’ leading goalers with three apiece, Tom Lang contributed two.
Captain Jack Blood, Kade Chalcraft, Patrick Dowling, Jarryd Garner and Matt Keast added their names to the scoresheet.
Leopold’s Jake Pitt snagged a brace, while Connor Giddings, Sam Hughes, Mitchell Patten and Marcus Thompson were lone goal-getters for the Lions.
The Saints’ back-to-back premiership feat is the first in the club’s 69-year history.
