Sands Torquay Club – June 7, 2018

WEDNESDAY – A field of 69 participants. Grade ‘A’ – Simon Burriss (4) with 41 points over Geoff Caddy (8) sitting on 37 points. Grade ‘B’ – Matthew Chalmers (24) with 43 points over Chris Coutts (14) on 41 points. Balls down the line to 36 points. NTP for the 5th hole goes to “Bubba” Riley Siketa and for the 13th the honour goes to Simon Burriss.

Thursday
Ladies’ three-person Ambrose with 16 entrants. The top prize belongs to Linda Turner, Marg Hales, and Lisa Reade with 64.66 over Kaye Robison, Gaile Kruger and Mandee Trevena with a score of 68.66. NTP for the 5th hole belongs to Lisa Reade and for hole number 13, Gaile Kruger claims the honours.

Saturday
Men Stroke Medal – The weather today was magnificent for the 100-plus golfers.

Winner for monthly medal overall, and A Grade was Ross Titheridge from Ballarat with a score of 69 points. A great effort by Luke Muller coming in second with a score of 72 points.

Men’s B Grade winner was Alex Makkreel with a score of 71 points, followed very closely behind by Paul Johnston with a score of 72 points, well done to both Alex and Paul.

Men’s C Grade winner was Robert Bridgart with a score of 77 points coming in second was Kevin Donchi with 78 points, great effort gents!

NTP on the 5th went to Bill Burnett ( 0.31m) on the 7th it was Robert Foster also with (0.31m), 13th hole went to Peter Brooks, (1.03m), and on the 17th was Mark Eccles. (2.15m)

The ball pool for the day ran down to 77 points.

Ladies’ Stableford
Overall winner for the Ladies Stableford was Andrea Harvey on 37 points, fantastic effort by Andrea, new to the club and loving the golf, second was Judy Hodgkins of 35 points, well done Judy, and third was Christine Brackin on 31 points, great effort Christine, gorgeous sunny day, where else would you rather be?

NTP was Linda Turner on the 17th hole (9.20m), good job Linda!!

Sunday Stableford Medley (white)
Yet another beautiful day at the Sands, sunshine and minimal wind, glorious!

Winner for today was Brad Gormley with and amazing score of 49! Great effort Brad. Runner up for the day was Daniel Schoenicke with 44 points, another fantastic score, well done Dan!

The ball pool ran down to 36 points.
