Wednesday Blue Tees – Stableford
Warm and still conditions at The Sands with the men playing off the Blue Tees – Stableford. Riley Siketa (-2) continues his good run of form recording a 5 under par 67 on his way to 39 points to claim A Grade from Shane McEachran (6) on 39 points also, hopefully both boys carry on this form for Saturday’s club championship. B Grade champion was Brian Harley (26) who was been threatening for a couple of weeks now with a great score of 40 points from Brian Fuller (30) with 38 points. Jeff Treloar got the NTP on the 5th hole and Mike Trickey on the 13th. The ball pool went to 32 points.

Thursday
Second qualifying round for the match-play stage of the ladies club championship, Lynne Hyett (25) recorded score of the day with 73 nett to claim the Ladies February Medal and win today from Lisa Reade (24) on 74 nett. The ball pool went down to 76 nett and the NTP on the 5th went to Kerry Bond and on the 13th hole went to Sue Browne.

Saturday – In the main competition, it was stroke for the men and Stableford for the women was played today off the blue and red tees. Again over 100 men took to the course resulting in a three-grade competition in perfect conditions. A Grade was won by Frank Myers (1) on nett 69 from a close Andrew Stephens (9) on nett 70. In B Grade, Paul Binyon score of nett 70 was enough to beat Alex Makkreel score of nett 70. C Grade went to Al Henderson (32) with a great score of nett 69, the best for the day, followed by Robert Bridgart (25) on nett 70. Well done to Alex Makkreel on winning the Medal of Medallists playoff today from a tightly contested field!

In the ladies’ competition, we had some great scores, including winner Marianna Bridgart (22) on 38 points. Ball pool ran down to 33 points and NTP on the Jan Selvay hole went to Marianna Bridgart. Today also marked Round 2 of the Men’s Club Championships. A Grade leader is Peter Brooks (+2) on 144 shots just ahead of Craig Corker (0) and Frank Myers (1) on 147 shots for their two rounds so far. In B Grade, we have Bill Burnett (12). C Grade Club Champion for 2018 is Robert Bridgart (25). Senior Club Champion is Dave Mallet (3).

Sunday Medley
A Stableford medley competition took place. Winner was Jim Demetrious (5) with a great score of 40 points from Ross McFarlane(2) on 40 points. The ball pool ran down to 34 points.
