SOUTH Barwon and Bell Park are set to face off in a finals-defining clash tomorrow (Saturday, July 26) in the GFL seniors, with the winner to take fifth spot on the ladder.

The Dragons presently hold that fifth spot on 32 points, while the Swans sit just two points behind.

South Barwon is coming off a draw against Leopold – the first in two years – which puts the Swans in sixth with five rounds to play.

An inaccurate Bell Park outfit only pulled away in the last quarter to beat the struggling Geelong West Giants in a match the Dragons will want to put behind them as the side chases back-to-back final appearances.

Colac will host St Josephs this weekend and be looking to solidify its spot in the top four and add to its three-game winning streak.

St Josephs was well beaten by St Mary’s in Round 13, and will look to regain the strong form that sees it atop the ladder. But, a loss against the Tigers could see Joeys drop to as low as fourth.

Leopold face the ninth-placed Giants at home in a clash the side must win to remain in check with the top six and keep the Lions’ chances of a three-peat alive.

North Shore will hunt for its second win of the year against an improved St Albans side at Windsor Park. A win for the Supersaints would be the club’s second in three matches.

Surprise packet Newtown & Chilwell will continue its strong run home, hosting 10th-placed Grovedale at Jardon Oval.

St Mary’s will aim for its tenth win of the year against Lara, who begin a challenging month which sees the Cats face five finals fancies in a row.
