MORE than 100 of the state’s best juniors will take to the hallowed breaks of Bells Beach this weekend for Round 1 of the 2024 Victorian Junior Surfing Titles.

Surfers from the age of 12 to 17 will travel from across the state to compete in the event.

The Victorian Junior Surfing Titles is the exclusive pathway for the state’s elite junior competitors for selection into the Victorian Junior Surfing Team, which is set to compete at the Australian Titles later this year.

Surfers slated to appear at Bells Beach for the event include 2023 state champion Jerry Kelly (Barwon Heads), Dahlia Feldman (Point Lonsdale), Jarvis Barrow (Torquay) and Estella Carbonelli (Jan Juc).

Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Roberston said he was excited to see Victoria’s best juniors surf it out for state honours.

“It’s amazing to be able to hold the opening round of the series at Bells Beach.

“The Woolworths Victorian Junior Series is a fantastic stepping stone for juniors to get experience in quality waves and put them on the path to the world tour.

“To have the chance to compete at a World Tour venue as a junior is an incredible opportunity for Victorians and will give them a great experience.”
