THE Surf Coast Sports Hub is the latest fitness destination in the region, merging two successful Torquay businesses.

CrossFit Bells Beach and Sport Support Australia are joining forces along with a range of new services all under the one umbrella.

Surf Coast Sports Hub’s Michelle Hemley said the business is like a “one stop shop” to help people achieve their goals.

“This is our opportunity to combine our expertise, 600sqm of fitted out gym and a beautiful feature wall of Bells Beach.

“We want to be Torquay’s premium health and fitness destination for health, fitness and sports development.

“We can train smart with our amazing coaches; we can recover better with our athlete recovery zones and perform better because that’s obviously what we’re all after.”

In a first for the region, the Surf Coast Sports Hub also features the athlete recovery zone with steam and infrared sauna, cold plunges, recovery project compression boots, massage rollers and more.

The coaches have a combined experience of 100 years and offer a range of classes including CrossFit, weight lifting, engine conditioning and running.

“We have a range of opportunities for kids and teens,” Ms Hemley said.

“We have a teen gym where teenagers can come into a fully supervised environment, have a programme designed for them and access the recovery zone.”

Ms Hemley said the hub is built on the values of community coaching and coastal vibes, creating more than a gym and a space more like a sports hub.

“People can train for events, people get to know each other, the trainers address you by name, it’s really full coaching.”

The hub is also home to the Surf Coast Secondary College Sports Academy, where 130 athletes develop their life skills through sport.

Those who purchase a three, six or 12 month ultimate or recovery zone membership before August 19 will go in the draw to have their membership refunded in full.
