MORE than 40 of Victoria’s top surfers will be riding the waves of Port Macquarie next month when the Australian Surf Championships takes the town by storm.

The 18-day event will run from August 4 to 21 and feature Shortboard, Longboarding, Logger and Bodyboard divisions.

The 2023 state team will feature incumbent Under 16 ISA World Champion Willis Droomer (Jan Juc), former Australian champions Ben Considine (Torquay), Emma Webb (Jan Juc), Bea Conroy (Point Lonsdale) and up and coming bodyboard talent Tully Roberts (Barwon Heads).

Ben Considine will represent his state in the Open Men longboard category.

Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson wished all competitors good luck in representing the state.

“Congratulations to all Victorians who have been selected as part of the 2023 Victorian State Team.

“This is one of the biggest events on the Australian Surfing Calendar, and we wish all the Victorian State Team the very best for the event!”
