A swell time at final senior aggregate

December 5, 2017 BY

Torquay Boardriders Club hosted their final senior aggregate for 2017 last Saturday November 11.

Held at Jan Juc, the weather and waves turned up with a fun two- to three-foot summer swell.

As this was the final aggregate on the 2017 TBC calendar, there was a race for who was going to take the title of Open Men’s Champion.

One of the overall front runners, Todd Rosewall, took an early loss, further intensifying the title race.

In a heated battle, the Open Men’s final was eventually won by Cody Robinson.

“It’s great to get my first win for the season. I couldn’t win overall but it’s a deadly way to finish the year,” Cody said.

The Open Women’s final was taken out by Angelique Kefalas. This was Angelique’s first win in the Open Women and was thrilled to rise up against the tough competition.

Other division winners were Adam Leslie (Masters), Tully Wylie (Under 18 Boys), Bella Wilson (Under 16 Girls), Cole Fox (Under 16 Boys), Rowan Sapwell (Legends) and Damien Wilson (Grand Masters).

Congratulation also goes to Tom Wright who took out the Rip Curl Outstanding Performance for the day.

All the ultimate 2017 division winners will be revealed at the TBC end of year presentation on Saturday November 18 at Bar 61.

We’d like to remind all members that they can purchase tickets to the presentation evening via the link on Torquay Boardriders Club Instagram and Facebook pages.

In other TBC news, we had 20 junior club members venture over to South Australia to compete in the Rip Curl Grom Search.

Torquay Boardriders would like to congratulate the following surfers for their fantastic efforts; Xavier Huxtable (1st – 16 Boys), Bella Wilson (2nd – 16 Girls), Ethan Huxtable (3rd – 14 Boys), Jazz Wylie (1st – 14 Girls), Mia Huppatz (3rd in 14 Girls and 1st in 12 Girls) and Tanner Reid (1st – 12 Boys).

Finally, the TBC will also be holding the Annual General Meeting at Bar 61 on Wednesday December 6 at 7.30pm.

Please come along and be a part of your club. Let’s make greater things happen. Go hard or go home!
