Taekwondo tournament kicks on in Geelong
ELITE Taekwondo hosted their fourth annual regional club competition in Geelong late last month.
The competition welcomed more than 120 competitors of all different ages and abilities from their Elite Taekwondo clubs and other clubs in Melbourne.
An Elite Taekwondo spokesperson said both the martial art and Elite Taekwondo themselves were becoming more prominent in the region.
“It’s absolutely growing. Taekwondo itself is getting a lot more know now in Geelong then it was 10 years ago.”
The event was held at Geelong Arena. The competition gave competitors an opportunity to gain experience and further their skills in a safe sparring environment.
It subsequently helps participants prepare for future state and national competitions.
Elite Taekwondo has been operating for more than 15 years. It has dojangs in Geelong and Ocean Grove.
