WEDNESDAY September 19
Stroke off the Blue tees for the Men today. Sun was out in the morning, with some mild wind, but as the day wore on, the sun left making it a chilly afternoon. Michael Aylward [32] and Colin Chinn [16] provided the day’s best score of Nett 71, however it was Michael coming out on top as the winner after c/b. The ball pool ran down the line to Nett 76, with Richard Hammett (7th hole, 1.10m) and Daryl Kitchin (17th hole, 4.92m) taking home the nearest to pins.
Thursday September 20
Par off the Gold tees for the Ladies today. Cloudy conditions with some mild wind. Shirley Peake [39] took out the tightly contested competition with +2, with Rae Rayner [39] nipping at her heels on +1. The ball pool ran down the line to -1, with Sharon Stewart (5th hole) and Susan Browne (13th hole) taking home the nearest to pins.
Saturday September 22
Stroke off the Blue tees for the Men today. In cloudy, cool conditions, 104 entrants caused a three grade competition, which was hotly contested throughout the day. In A Grade, it was Peter Brooks [0] coming out on top with a c/b win over Paul Binyon [10], with both competitors finishing their rounds on Nett 72. B Grade saw another c/b victory, with Jim Marendaz [20] the winner and Glen Lochhead [20] the runner up, after ending up on Nett 72 after 18 holes. In C Grade, David Wilson [30] won another close encounter, finishing up on Nett 74, one shot ahead of runner up Alexander Harris [34] on Nett 75. The ball pool for the day ran down the line to Nett 76, further showcasing the tightness of today’s competition. Nearest to pins on the day went to Craig Corker (5th hole, 2.45m), Brett Balloch (7th hole, 1.39m), Charlie Celi (13th hole, 0.42m) and Ian Davis (17th hole 1.53m). Stableford off the Red tees for the Ladies competition today. It was Andrea Harvey [36] scoring a whopping 40 points to take home the win, enormous effort! Diane Cox [32] was the runner up with a score of 36 points.
Sunday September 23
Stableford Medley today, Blue tees for Men and Red tees for Ladies. In cloudy and medium wind conditions, it was Gavin Saunders (17) finishing up on 41 points after their round, which was enough to take home the title of winner. Craig MacCarthy (35) was runner up, finishing up on 40 points. The ball pool for the day ran down the line to 34 points.
