Tigers bolster junior coaching ranks
TORQUAY Football Club has appointed Daniel Farrar as its new Under 18 coach as part of a two-year agreement.
Farrar’s experience as a junior coach made him a frontrunner during the Tigers’ recruiting process, and he now takes on the role of preparing the club’s next generation of players.
“Daniel ticks all the boxes for what we’re looking for in an Under 18 coach,” Tigers senior coach Dom Gleeson said.
“His track record speaks for itself, and his passion for the game and dedication to player development align perfectly with our club’s values.
“We believe Daniel will not only enhance the skills of our Under 18 players but also instil in them a strong club culture.”
Farrar’s experience includes as an assistant coach at the Werribee Football Club and three years of coaching at Geelong Grammar, mentoring students and developing training programs.
Farrar also previously coached Torquay’s reserves team, where he led the side to a Bellarine Football League premiership in 2016.
In a statement to the Surf Coast Times, the Torquay Football Club said it was “thrilled to welcome Farrar back and looks forward to the positive impact his leadership will bring”.
