Tigers sign Terry Hill to assistant role
Hill captained South Barwon’s firsts to a second-placed finish in GCA Division 1.
He said he was now eager to return to the club where began his playing days.
“I played 12 or 13 years of junior cricket down at Torquay, so I know a lot of the people down there and wanted to come back to my hometown, my junior club, and finish my career down there.”
Hill has often competed against Torquay’s new coach James Fisher and was also teammates with him at Belmont Lions Football Club.
Hill said with Fisher in charge, the club could be ambitious.
“I want to take Torquay to the next level, to Division 1, which I think is really achievable, especially with James in charge.
“I’ve known James for plenty of years. I think he’s a great bloke and he’ll be a good fit for Torquay.”
Hill said there was a lot to suggest the club’s future was bright.
“I think with their junior program and the women’s cricket down at Torquay I think there’s exciting things at the club.”
