TUESDAY April 10: The ladies played the qualifying round for the SWDLGA Foursomes and winners will go onto the final round later in the year. With 38 points June Laidler and Barbara Young-Harding were our winning team and we wish them all the best for the final round. Ainsley McCallum and Helen Robertson were runners up on 36 points. Resort foursome winners were Valma Davis and Norma Veale with 77. NTPs Julie Bottomley and Di Liley. Our 9-hole comp. winner was June Macrae with +2.
Wednesday April 11: A Grade winner Andy Clark shot 40 points. B Grade went to Bernie Hallinan 39 points. Ed Featherston took out C Grade scoring 43 points and our D Grade winner Darrell Brewin shot 41 points. Roy Ball won the Resort with 44 points and our guest winner Nicholas Treble (Ocean Grove GC) had 43 points. Super 6 winner’s Blue tees Leo Stella 17 points and Resort winner Roy Ball 16 points. NTPs Andy Clark Richard Pekin, Wayne Nitschke, James Wood, Lyndon Langan and Peter Costello hit the jackpot.
Friday April 13: Geoff Walters shot 43 points to take out A Grade. B Grade went to Steve May with 39 points and C Grade winner Trevor Carter 40 points. June Laidler won the ladies scoring 34 points. Tim Fewster won the guest comp. with 42 points. NTPs Richard Bartle, Keith Marriner and Paul Brunt hit the jackpot.
Saturday April 14: The weather turned nasty today with strong winds and persistent rain most of the day most golfers decided to stay home. There were however a few brave souls as it was back to Black challenge this month 30 players entered and winning with 39 points was Jarrod Young. Blue Tee 50 players entered with Rod Papworth taking out the A Grade win and Peter Wills won B Grade scoring 32 points. NTPs Andrew Young, John Anderson, Rodger Thomas, Robert Muffet and Tony Jones took out the jackpot win.
Sunday April 15: Peter Rees took out the competition today with a great score of 39 points he battled the wind and rain early to post that winning score. Duc Hoang won the guest comp. with 38 points. NTPs Scott Harding, Darren Gibson and Brian Boadle hit the jackpot he was the first to hit the green with a close shot and that held all day.
