TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – April 25, 2019

MONDAY April 15 – our monthly Vets/Seniors game was played. A full field was once again on the course and conditions were perfect. We had the two best scores we have ever had for 12 holes with Mark Ferguson shooting 38 points, while for the ladies, wife Janine Ferguson had 37 points. The next round will be played on May 27. NTPs Ken Ballard and Janine Ferguson.

Tuesday April 16 – Cheryl Brunt put in a great round of 39 points to take out A grade. B grade went to Gill Patten 40 points and C grade winner Sandra Martin had 36 points. The Resort win went to Helen Bloink on 37 points. Super six winners Red tees Cheryl Brunt, Green tees Helen Bloink. NTPs Joan Thomson, Helen Bloink, Shelly Clark, Karen Bourke and Yvonne Mazylis hit the jackpot.

Wednesday April 17 – the men were up early for the 7.45am stableford shotgun start. Our morning winners were for A grade Keith Marriner with 39 points. B grade David Rae 38 points and C grade Riley Beste 41 points. Then we had the 2nd of our shotgun starts at 12.30 and our winners were A grade Cameron Gill 40 points and B grade Dominic Condon 42 points.
Len Worsteling was our Resort winner with 38 points. NTPs James Wood, Rick McNamara, Dennis Abbey, Tyson Gill, Gary Clark and Kevin O’Neill hit the jackpot.

Friday April 19 – no competition. Saturday April 20 – Jason Richards took out A grade with 41 points. B grade was taken out by Nick Turnbull on 42 points. Boyd Williams was our C grade winner scoring 41 points and D grade went to Peter Smith with 41 points. Jacqui Nelson shot 33 points to win for the ladies. Resort winner Laurie Wanders had the round of the day with 45 points. Devon Hassall was our guest winner scoring 36 points. Super six winners: Blue tees Jason Richards 16 points, Red tees Di Roberts 12 points and Green tees Barry Shipsides 14 points. NTPs Keith Warburton, Michael Naughton, Robert Speakman, Claire Dowley, Margot Bradley, Rick McNamara and Glyn Yates hit the jackpot.

Sunday April 21 – Wayne Olney shot 39 points to take out our A grade Mixed competition. While B grade went to Christine
Wilson with an impressive 44 points, well done to Christine against all the men. Guest winner Matthew Duddington (Southern GC) had 40 points. NTPs Robert Speakman, Wayne Olney and Arthur Naoumidis hit the jackpot.
