Torquay Golf Club – Febuary 1, 2018

TUESDAY: The ladies played Stableford on Tuesday with Pam Stribley taking out A Grade with 40 points. B Grade was won by Gail Richards with 37 points. Dianne Slater won C Grade with 42 points. Rosie Jones won the resort competition with 41 points. NTPs Wendy Johnson, Jenni Cottrill, Chris Barr, Libby Fuller, Wendy Johnson and Cheryl Brunt won the Jackpot.

Wednesday: The men also Stableford with Wayne Nitschke winning A Grade with 40 points. Bob Manning won B Grade with 43 points and also eagled the 18th. Mick Nemeth won C Grade 41 points. D Grade was won by David Rossiter 43 points. The resort competition went to James Wood with 44 points. The men’s guest competition was won by Nicholas Treble (Ocean Grove GC), not “Trouble” as was written in some papers, with 39 points. NTPs Bruce Harvey, Brian Boadle, Graham Travers, Tony Jones, Peter Cannon and Robert Muffet won the Jackpot.

Friday: Again the game of choice was Stableford with Peter Rees taking out A Grade with 44 points. B Grade was won by Ian McGregor 41 points. C Grade went to Gerard Whitely 42 points. In the ladies competition, Cheryl Brunt won with 34 points. The men’s guest competition was won by Russell Cownley with 42 points. NTPs Terry Taylor, Barrie Joyner, Jenni Cottrill and Mary Sweet took out the Jackpot!

Saturday: In the men’s competition, Dave McPhail had 43 points shooting -1 under to win the A Grade competition. Barry Morrison took out B Grade with 42 points. Mark Franklin won C Grade 42 points. Paul Mizzi won D Grade 44 points. In the ladies’ competition, Jacqui Nelson won with a whopping 47 points. In the resort competition Graeme Sharp won with 39 points. In the men’s guest competition, we had a huge 20 guests, with Dallas Gist taking it out with 40 points (Heidelberg GC). NTPs John Bishop, Robert Muffet, Mick Armour, Tim Sinnott, Graeme Sharp, Inge Oliver, Sue Booth and Ron Haeberle (LL) took out the Jackpot.

Sunday: Stableford again, with only one grade because of the heat, Jeff Hunter won with 41 points. The men’s guest was won by Damien Grigg with 38 points (Kooringal GC). NTPs Martin Hooiveld, Peter McCluskey and Michael Vandewater won the Jackpot.

Open Day (Members only): Entries have opened for Open Day on February 4 with plenty of spots still open for the shotgun start at 12.30pm. Entry is only $5 for the competition with complimentary golf snacks after the round. Please call into the golf shop to enter.
