TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – January 24, 2019

Tuesday January 15: Stableford Tuesday and Margot Bradley won A Grade comfortably with 38, Jane Cotter claimed B with 39 and young Emma Pearce won again with 39 in C. Emma has now reduced her handicap from 45 to 27 since August last year, well done young gun. Resort was won by Deirdre Wirth. NTPs went to L. Grebe, E. Pearce, H. Paull, K. Naoumidis and Di Slater won the Jackpot. Mystery Super 6 prizes went to Bev Appleton and Rosie Jones.

Wednesday January 16: The Gents teamed up in 4BBB Stableford on Wednesday. Tom Butler and Matt Waters paired up to score an impressive 49 points to head Richard Ibbotson and Rick Dahlenburg and the Young Brothers Doug and Kevin both with 48. Brian Brown continued his hot form when he teamed up with Rod Chappell to win the Resort Comp with 48. NTPs went to B. Hewitt, A. Foss, R. Cronin, L. Oldham, D. Strickland and Peter Jones collected the Jackpot. G. Baeck, R. Bottomley and G. Davie all scored Eagles, well done lads.

Friday January 18: Another large Friday field saw some high scores tumble in. Chris Timonowic topped all with 45 in B and Brian Baranski won A with 42. New Member Kathy Naoumidis beat 20 other Ladies with 39 points, welcome to Torquay GC Kathy. NTPs were won by W. Lawson, L. Dean, K. Allan and Michael Kearney secured the Jackpot with a nice shot on 17.

Saturday January 19: The Black Tee Challenge was popular on Saturday with 93 Men taking it on. The humble Andrew Young prevailed with 39 points in A and Trevor Doolan impressed with 38 in B. Paul Palimaka was successful off the Blue
Tees scoring 42 to take out A whilst Ed Robertson also had 42 to prevail in B Grade. Harry Knevitt won the Resort with 43 and Lyn Brady returned to the winners list with a handy 37 points to triumph in the Ladies Comp. NTPs were W. Cousins, T.
Jones, P. Brunt, H. Knevitt, and H.Dixon. Special mention to Greg Giampiccolo’s NTP on 15 which was an ace, nice work Greg. Andrew Crowley secured the Jackpot from the Black Tee.

Sunday January 20: Mark Franklin had a win on Sunday with 43 points in A whilst Peter Cannon claimed B with 41. Sandra Lambert won the Ladies with 38. NTPs went to L. Brady, M. Joyner, J. Cengic and P. McCluskey.
