Torquay Golf Club – January 25, 2018

Tuesday: Lynne Downes shot 39 points to win for A Grade. B Grade winner Gail Richards had 35 points and Heather Richards was the winner for C Grade with 40 points. Rosie Jones had 39 points to win the Resort competition. Super 6 winners for the ladies Heather Richards 18 points and Resort Judy Sceney 15 points. NTPs Angela Worthy, Vicki Standfield, Cheryl Mostyn, Judy Sceney, Cheryl Brunt and Dee Matheson hit the jackpot.

Wednesday: the men played 4BBB stableford and the winning team of Dave McPhail and Greg Bradley had 49 points. Runners-up Peter Rees and John Bishop also had 49 points as did 3rd place winners Len Worsteling and Robert Brzozek. Resort winners were Terry Lyons and Peter Fox with 48. Runners up also on 48 points were Ron Cronin and Alec Hand. Guest winners were Michael Scarlett and Chris Perry (Creswick GC) with 45 points. NTPs Dave McPhail, Ross Forbes, Clive Smith, Greg Bradley, Max Simpson and Garry Smith hit the jackpot.

Friday: due to the hot weather it was a small field that braved the hot conditions. Our men’s winner Andy Clark had 40 points and our guest winner Steven Menegazzo shot 31 points. NTPs Jayson Moran, Steven Menegazzo, David Rae hit the jackpot.

Saturday: Blue Tee: winners A Grade Eric Black 35 points. B Grade Kevin Young 42 points. C Grade Peter Ronne 43 points. Black Tees: A Grade Robert Muffet 35 points. B Grade Noel Jeffery 38 points. C Grade Terry Lee 37 points. Brian Brown won the Resort with 42 points and our ladies winner Chery Brunt 36 points. Our guest winner Andrew D’Arcy had 37 points. NTPs Leo Roberts, Glen Muhlenberg, Andy Clark, Jenni Cottrill, Terry Lyons and Ray Furphy the jackpot.

Sunday: Tenties V Townies was held today in great conditions with some good scores posted. Peter Davies 1st with 46 points, Greg Dennis 2nd 43 points and 3rd Gavin Roker 41 points, Lesley Beltrame won the ladies with 38 points and Inge Oliver was 2nd 37 points, Heather Dixon 4th 32 points and Jill Chick 32 points. Thanks to Andrew Fischer and Stuart Naughton for organizing the day once again in their 62nd year the tradition will continue next year. Thank you also to the many sponsors that donated prizes for the winners. Club competition winners were A Grade Greg Dennis 43 points, B Grade Jeff Hunter 47 point, Lesley Beltrame won the ladies with 38 points, and our guest winner Peter Davies (Tocumwal GC) 46 points. Brendan Ryan hit the jackpot.
