TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – January 3, 2019

FRIDAY 21 December: the competition field headed out in what looked like a windy wet start, thankfully the sun came out and all was well with the world.

Paul Brunt was one of those that were out early, and he posted the winning score for A grade with 40 points. B grade went to Andrew Bishop scoring 43 points.

Margot Bradley took out the ladies scoring 34 points and guest winner Zachary Curran (Sandringham Gc) had 36 points. NTPs Bern Farrelly, John Vale, Cheryl Brunt and Zachary Curran hit the jackpot. Brian Baranski and Ado Cations both shot Eagles on the 11th.

Saturday 22nd December: Andrew Carr off a handicap of 3 shot an impressive +5 to take out A grade. Justin Baker was our B grade winner with +5. C grade went to Errol Morris +4 and D grade winner Geoff Lamont had the score of the day +6. The Resort winner was Graeme Sharp with +4. Clare Fitzpatrick took out the ladies scoring +2 and guest winner Chris Lee shot +8.

NTPs Ken Nunn, Greg Baeck, Murray Bingham, Rod Chappell, Lyn Wilson, Ross Bottomley and Eric Black took out the jackpot. Ben Thomas and Andrew Carr both shot eagles on the 18th.

Sunday 23rd December: the course was packed with visitors and members alike. The weather was beautiful, and we had over 203 players. The competition today was stableford and A grade winner Wayne Olney shot 40 points. B grade went to Chris Kemp 41 points.

Ladies winner Marg Joyner had 35 points and our guest competition was won by Michael Kennedy (Kooringal GC) 41 points. NTPs Ray Morgan, Marg Joyner, John Schultz and Michael Kennedy hit the jackpot.
