TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – July 11, 2019

Tuesday July 2 – Ros Lewis won A grade with 74. B grade and Medal winner Emma Pearce shot 73. Putting winner was Heather Wemyss-Smith. Congratulations to Mandy Buckley taking out the gross with 87. Liz Barrow was our Resort winner
scoring 37 points and the nine-hole competition win went to Judy Dickie. NTPs Barbara Young- Harding, Patricia Hooper, Mandy Buckley, Faye Henry-Davies, Sue Booth and Emma Pearce topping off a good day on the course hit the jackpot.

Wednesday July 3 – Cameron Gill was our A grade Champion shooting 39 points. B grade went to Graeme Nash with 40 points and C grade winner Steve Trainor had 39 points. One Eagle was made today Justin Baker on the 1st. Ray Frost was the Resort winner scoring 37 points. Thomas Stafford (Trentham GC) took out the guest competition 36 points. NTPs Terry Lee, Graeme Nash, Graeme Sharp, Robert Muffet, Bernie Hallinan and Peter Orwin hit the jackpot.

Friday July 4 – 77 players hit the course today and Nick Tunbull was our A grade win scoring 40 points. B grade was won by Trevor Carter also shooting 40 points he is in some good form of late! June Laidler won the ladies competition scoring 36 points. Our guest win went to Colin Woodcock 34 points. NTPs June Laidler, John Harding, Ken Stanley and Robert Clark took out the jackpot win.

Saturday July 5 – in stunning winter conditions the monthly medal was up for grabs for both the men and the ladies. Medal day is always our sausage sizzle and as usual they are always a hit. A grade winner Robert Muffet had an impressive
65. Kev Leeman shot 70 to take out B grade. C grade and Medal winner Trevor Carter however had the score of the day with 64. Resort winner Ross Forbes shot 40 points. Emma Pearce still in good form had 75 to win the ladies on c/b from Lyndsey Dunstan who also had 75. Both girls will playoff next month for the medal. Guest winner Mat McGowen (Glenelg GC) had 70. NTPs Alan Tompkin, Tony Strahan, Margot Bradley, Lyn Wilson, Barry Hewitt, Ron Eyles and Bob Manning hit the jackpot. Congratulations to Eric Black on a Hole in One on the 12th.

Sunday July 7 – Mitch Grassick shot an impressive +6 to take out the now mixed competition. Runner Up Matthew Conquest also had a good score with +4. NTPs Mick O’Dwyer, Barrie Joyner and Dave McPhail hit the jackpot. Look out for the Black tee challenge coming up on July 20 for our men. Are you ready to test your skills off the back markers?
