TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – June 20, 2019

MONDAY June 10 – Our winners for this round were members Craig Thomas with 37 points and Marg Joyner 36 points. Guest winner Jeremy Tobin (Kingston Heath GC) had 35 points. NTPs Lesley Thornton, Daniel Farrar, Robert Thornton and Warren Gaunt hit the jackpot.

Tuesday June 11 – Ros Lewis shot 36 points to take out A grade. B grade went to Wendy Poyner with 34 points and C grade was won by Pip Cassady scoring 35 points. Resort winner Rosie Jones had 32 points and our nine-hole win went to Isabel Mahon scoring 19 points. Super 6 Winners Red tees Jen Conn 16 points and Green tees Rosie Jones 11 points. NTPs Joye Burton, Norma Veale, Margot Bradley, Diane Liley, Tim Ratcliffe and Ros Holland hit the jackpot.

Wednesday June 12 – the weather turned nasty with heavy rain falling we had 13 brave players that took to the course for the men’s competition. Most of the heavy rain fell in the morning with lighter showers falling in the afternoon, by then the course was almost under water and the afternoon field was cancelled. There were only 2 players that finished their round Nathan Edwards and Peter Rees, Nathan was first with sq and Peter had -8. Well done to both players on finishing. We heard Nathan did not even have wet weather gear and was soaking! He did stay for coffee after to warm up. NTPs Daryl Moss and Peter Rees hit the jackpot.

Friday June 14 – Warren Gaunt had a great round finishing first for A grade with +5. B grade winner Dan Schroter had +3 and Deb Shoesmith was the best for the ladies with -1. David Rae shot an eagle on the 1st which was the only one for the day. NTPs Lesley Grebe, Ronnie Beacom, Terry Dowling, Ross Martin and David Rae hit the jackpot.

Saturday June 15 – was our Black tee challenge and the quarterly Medal was also up for grabs. 74 players entered and winning for A grade was Murray Bingham 37 points. B grade and Medal winner Lachlan Boyd 39 points. Blue Tee winners A grade John McKay 38 points. B grade Ken Ballard 37 points. Resort winner Ross Forbes had 37 points. Three eagles were scored today Doug Hutchinson 11th, James Deans on the 1st and Gary Watson 16th. Captain Sue Barnes had the best score for the ladies with 38 points. Guest winner Steven White (Lonsdale GC) had 34 points. NTPs Sheena Scholten, Sue Barnes, Gary Taylor, Graham Gill, Paul Walters, Glenn Mifsud and Geoff Grayling the jackpot.

Sunday June 16 – Adam Noble took out A grade with +4. B grade went to Daniel Spencer on +3. Marg Joyner was our lady’s winner scoring +2. NTPs Sandra Lambert, Christine Wilson, Chris Smith, Ben Thomas and Peter Rees hit the jackpot.
