TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – March 28, 2019

TUESDAY – Barbara Young-Harding shot 38pts to take out A grade. B grade went to Jeanette Kent also with 38pts & C grade winner June Laidler also 38pts. Monica Spencer was our Resort winner scoring 37pts. Sue Morris won the 9-hole competition scoring 14pts. Super 6 winners Red tees Barbara Young- Harding 16pts & Green tees Helen Bloink 11pts. NTPs Helen Bloink, Mandy Buckley, Diane Liley, Jenni Cottrill, Barbara Croaker and Cheryl Mostyn won the jackpot.

Wednesday – Jayson Moran shot 64 to take out A grade. B grade went to Barry Grigg with 70. C grade was won by Greg Brinsmead 64 and D grade winner Danny Guiney had 66. Resort winner Ron Hedley shot 43pts and Guest winner Phil Trevenen (Ballarat GC) had 75. NTPs John Bishop, Stuart Robinson, Ray Gogoll, Darren Looker, Matt Carboon & Ed Featherston hit the jackpot.

Friday – Peter Garland had a good round shooting 43pts to win A grade. B grade went to John Owen with 44pts. Robyn Westacott took out the ladies with 35pts. NTPs Robyn Westacott, Marg Joyner, Garry Smith, John Monagle and Garry Smith the jackpot.

Saturday – we had 2 shotgun starts 7.45 and 12.30. The men played 4BBB stableford and the ladies played stableford. We had strong fields for both times, and it is a good opportunity to meet some of your fellow members after the game, and of course the committee was kind enough to give every table a lovely bowl of chips. If you did not stay you missed out! Presentations were done for the men’s morning competition after some chats, drinks and chips. Morning winners were Paul Palimaka and Adam Noble with an impressive 50pts and runners up with 48pts Chris Fitzgerald and Justin Baker. Afternoon winners Damien Armour and Guy Lamont with 49pts from runners up also with 49pts Arthur Naoumidis and Bruce Ditchburn. Resort winners Ron Hedley and Ian Lawson shot 47 and runners up Ian Sheldon and Brian Brown had 45pts.
Ladies winner Kaylene Potter shot 36pts. Robert Hampson (The Social GC) had 34pts to win the guest comp. NTPs for the day Tony Cosgrave, Laurie Wanders, Lyn Brady, Nathan Papworth, Bruce Ditchburn, Noel Jeffery and Ray Furphy hit the jackpot. Congratulations to Bruce Ditchburn scoring a hole in one on the 15th.

Sunday – Graham Travers took out A grade with 40pts. B grade winner was Rob Harding also scoring 40pts. Judy Bell was the best for the ladies with 34pts & mixed guest winner Peter Hunter shot 46pts. NTPs Geoff Drury, Sandra Lambert, Bradley Green and Rob Harding was happy to score the jackpot win.

Lessons: Darrell Brown is holding some clinics this coming month but there are limited spots. Kel Llewellyn is available for lessons by appointment. Please call the golf shop for more details.
