Torquay Golf Club – March 8, 2018

SUNDAY: The men had their Foursomes 36-hole event last Sunday and for all the winners results go to our website under “mens”. The morning field stableford competition winners were Rob Schofield with 39 points and runner-up John Bishop also 39 points. Our ladies winner Kaylene Potter had 29 points. The guest winner Chase Morgan shot 34 points. There were no NTPs for today.

Wednesday: was a two-person Ambrose event and there were over 200 players. Taking out 1st place was the team of Peter Doak and Garry Smith with 58. Runners-up Keith Marriner and Maurie Kayler – Thomson had 62.25 and 3rd place went to Ray Fitzgerald and Geoff Lamont also 62.25. Resort winners John Burton and Ian Lawson with 63. The guest competition went to Daryl Moss and Scott Dell with 64.75. NTPs Greg Baeck, Ian Sheldon, Geoff Lamont, Roy Ball, Roger Moulday and Mick Nemeth hit the jackpot.

Friday: Adrian Cations had a great round taking out A Grade with 42 points off a 4 handicap. B Grade winner Bernie Hallinan shot 41 points. Trevor Westacott had the score of the day 44 points to take out C Grade. Paula Mitchell won the ladies with 36 points. Luke Rayner was this week’s guest winner with 42 points. NTPs Gilbert Fryatt, Alan Puddy, David J Boyle hit the jackpot.

Saturday: Junior Tom Powell had nett 61 to take out A Grade and this month’s medal. B Grade winner Chris Fitzgerald had 65. C Grade went to Ian Sumner with 63 and D Grade winner Paul Harvey shot 65. Clare Fitzpatrick had net 70 to win the ladies and will play off against Cheryl Brunt also with 70 in the next stroke round for the ladies medal. Bob Gough won the Resort with 44 points. NTPs Ron Hedley, Rod Papworth, Damien Armour and Lyn Moore. Congratulations to Ron Haeberle scoring his 7th Hole In One on the 5th and to Keith Minney who also scored a Hole In One on the 17th and took out the jackpot which means he won over $250 dollars for his efforts!

Members will see on the website that guest day is being held on March 18. You are welcome to bring two pairs for the day, which will be a 4BBB event with afternoon tea included for only $5 per player.

Darrell Brown is available for private lessons Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. He will also be doing some clinics that are great value for all levels of golfers.
