Torquay Golf Club – October 12, 2017

SUNDAY kicked off with 4BBB mixed stableford and Arthur and Kathy Naoumidis from Mentone took out 1st place with 49 points from Terry and Kellie Baker on 47 points. The men’s winners Merv Spencer and Brian Fuller had 37 points, while the ladies team of Kaylene Potter and Margot Bradley scored 43 points. NTPs Stuart Naughton, Dave McPhail, Ian Vorbach, Margot Bradley, Noel Orwin, and Harry Knevitt got the jackpot. Kathy Naoumidis also won the flat screen TV for her NTP on the 15thand the straightest drives went to Mark Franklin and Ainsley McCallum.

Monday’s Ambrose game was a full field and our very own Torquay members Bob Manning, Phillip Brown, Greg Baeck and Peter Mahony were the men’s winners with 55.375. The gross winners Barrie Joyner, Chris Conden, Rod Brown and Brendan Jackson scored 61. Warrnambool ladies Robyn Hickey, Helen Dixon, Jenny Emanuelle and Brenda Cronin had 59. The Torquay team of Ronnie Beacom, Heather Dixon, Cheryl Brunt and Alison Bouchier won the gross with 68. NTPs Chris Oliver, Rod Brown, Chris Condon, Kaylene Potter, Robyn Westacott, Lynne Downes, Ronnie Beacom and Herb Hertaeg hit the jackpot.

Tuesday was ladies’ day and there were a number of winners today the Traralgon gross winner Dee Matheson had 79. Challenge Cup net winner Louise Watach scored 68. Div 2 Gross winner Rita Zenk scored 93. Net winner Ros Holland 71. Div 3 gross winner Margy McIntyre 103. Net winner Lesley Thornton 73. The Zeally Bay Cup winning team was from Anglesea Ros Holland, Vida Brenner, Robyn Schepers and Barb Croaker with 219. NTPs Helen Stratton, Vicki Hannah, Kathy Naoumidis, Di Liley and Vida Brenner won the jackpot.

Wednesday was back to 4BBB stableford with Greg Libbis and Don Forsyth taking 1st place with 48 points. The ladies winning team was by the Rossdale girls Caroline Farrow and Judy Rae with 50 points. NTPs Andrew Kibbis, Chris Humphrey, Jeff Siedlecki, Rob Templeton, Sally Warburton, Inge Oliver, Lynne Downes, Julie Fraser and Bob Manning took out the jackpot.

Friday, we had two shotgun starts and conditions changed to very windy and cold, although the sun did make a brief appearance in the afternoon. The morning men’s winner Chris Thompson shot 39 points and for the ladies Kerry Castleman had 33 points. NTPs Di Liley, Pam Stribley, Gail Rooney, Jim Nicola, Mark Thompson, Errol Morris, Chris Thompson and Peter Garland hit the jackpot. The afternoon winners were Mark Whelan 37 points and Pamela Jones 37 points. NTPs Andy Clark, Greg Wilson, Bob Widdison, Peter Mann, Inge Oliver, Lois Matthews and Keirnan Halliburton hit the jackpot.
