Torquay retains trophy in Battle of the Bridge

January 11, 2018 BY

JAN Juc and Torquay donned the whites (and colours) and did battle again at the weekend as part of their annual cricket clash.

The latest instalment of the Battle of the Bridge was held at Bob Pettit Reserve on Sunday, and the social T20 games attracted players both young and old from both clubs.

In the Legends (over 45s) game, Jan Juc made 162 but Torquay were unable to match the target, falling about 30 runs short.

The Tigers squared the ledger for the day in the main game, retaining the Battle of the Bridge trophy for another year. Torquay captain Ash Russell led from the front, smacking several sixes off the Sharks bowlers on his way to a century.
