Torquay SLSC open to saving lives
TORQUAY Surf Lifesaving Club (TSLSC) members held their open day last Sunday November 5 to showcase their facilities and services they offer to the local community.
TSLSC marketing manager Fleur Batties said the open day ran smoothly, with great fun had by all.
“The open day was able to give those who visited an idea of what we have on offer at the club,” Fleur said.
“We demonstrated and shared information on how to join and what we do, including nippers, senior competition, patrols, life saving services and surf row boats.
“We had many more nipper families’ sign up for this season, with two training sessions a week finishing in March.
“The best thing about Nippers is that it’s never too late to sign up, everyone is welcome to join in at any stage and give it a go!”
Torquay Nippers are held on Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at Front Beach (Opposite Growlers) and Sunday Mornings from 9am-10.30am at Torquay SLSC.
“We also gave guests tours of our facilities which are open to the public for event hire.”
TSLSC is located at 55 Surf Beach Road, Torquay.
