Vixen players to run Geelong clinic

SOME of Victoria’s best netballers will be coming home next week as part of a specialist clinic for junior players.
Melbourne Vixen star players Tegan Philip, Kelsey Browne, Emily Mannix and Liz Watson will lead the Geelong clinic, and are making the trip as part of Netball Victoria’s Clinics and Camps program.
The specialist session will focus on all areas of the court including defending, attacking, footwork and ball handling. to run Geelong clinic “This is a great chance for young players to learn from some of Australia’s best players,” Netball Victoria regional development manager Mel Taylor said.
Philip, Mannix and Browne all hail from Geelong.
“They all continue to support their local clubs and always give back to the Geelong community,” Ms Taylor said.
“They are all strong role models for young, up-and-coming netballers and show us that you really can make it to the top if you work hard.”
Watson was named as a member of the Australian Diamonds team for the 2016 tour of England.
She had a stand-out series in her international debut, playing in all three test matches.
The Melbourne Vixens Clinic will be held at Geelong Basketball Netball Centre on April 7.
The clinic will run between 9.30am3.30pm and is open to anyone aged 9 to 16 years.
