AS the weather cools, summer sports are wrapping up their seasons, with Geelong Cricket Association celebrating their 2026 premiers over the weekend.

Seven clubs lifted trophies on Sunday, marking the end of the 2025/2026 women’s competitions.

North Geelong made 97 runs to come out victorious.

 

North Geelong topped the club championship in A grade, losing just one game all season. After winning the toss the Magpies put on a comprehensive show while bowling, setting themselves up for a quick win over East Belmont. Player of the match Issy Maclay scored half the winning runs.

In B grade, Anglesea just got the edge over Queenscliff thanks in no small part to an outstanding 3/19 from captain Janet Lister in the second innings.

Torquay missed out on an underdog story in C grade after impeccable bowling from Bannockburn left them all out for 58. Just one player managed to make double-digits, with three Tigers out for ducks.

After getting over some early grand final nerves, Armstrong Creek settled in for a tough battle with Thomson in D grade. Stunning bowling kept the Tigers to just one boundary, allowing the Titans to squeeze in their premiership win.

Little River secured an undefeated premiership over North Geelong in E grade after a dominant 2025-26 season. Bell Park’s Jackii Hutchison couldn’t have asked for a better 50th game, finishing the year with a premiership over Jan Juc in F grade.

North Geelong secured the Lawn Addicts Senior Women A Grade title in fine fashion.

 

After missing out against Geelong City in round 13, East Belmont snuck across the line after a nail biting run rate to secure themselves the G grade premiership.
