Premium outdoor gear on the Surf Coast

FROM hitting the slopes to getting in the surf, Torquay’s S2 Adventure has got outdoor sports lovers of all kinds covered.

S2 Adventure, standing for sport to adventure, seek to adventure, snow to adventure, skate to adventure, search to adventure and swim to adventure, covers all outdoor environments or sports.

Set in the West Coast Business Park, the locally owned and operated business offers only the best in sporting gear.

Opening just over a year ago, S2 Adventure is led by Richie Heenan, whose background in the industry has helped guide the offering.

“The whole reason this opened was to support our distribution business,” he said.

The outdoor adventure store is also a hub for people to hangout in, providing visitors with a pool table for their own use.

“We had all these brands we bought in and we had the space.

“Because of my history, we’ve brought in a lot of friends that I’ve grown up with in the industry, so people who are in here and people who I’ve grown up with.

“Everyone who’s got their product in here is because I’ve known them for years.”

Heenan’s professional career started at Quiksilver, making his way through the business before moving more into the surf industry, working with a range of high-end brands.

Aligning themselves with key brands in their fields, S2 Adventure stocks Mizu, Aloha Collection, Roark, Oakley, Dakine, Ritual Vision and much more, also offering customisation on a lot of products.

Also on offer is a range of e-bikes from Odeon, complemented by the team’s skills and services to be able to maintain and service the equipment and provide spare parts.

Odeon ebikes are one of the best sellers in-store, with the team equipped to deal with any maintenance or servicing required.

“We’re a new vision of the outdoor adventure store, we’re not your basic wall-to-wall surfboards or wall-wall kayaks,” Heenan said.

“We’ve got the best of the best of everything because that’s what we feel we know we can actually sell and be very proud of selling.”

The store also features home-grown talent from young local creatives, showing them a little bit about business while also supporting their products by selling them through the shop.

Outside of the store, the locals are still a focus, supporting the football clubs and getting behind the local surfing competitions.
