On behalf of Surfing Victoria, Rip Curl and the World Surf League, I would like to welcome everyone to the 61st running of the Rip Curl Pro presented by Bonsoy at Djarrak/Bells Beach.

We are excited to welcome back the world’s best surfers to Wadawurrung Country in Victoria and continue the tradition of the longest running surf event in the world.

This year it is great to see local surfer India Robinson back on the Championship Tour and representing Victoria on the world stage. We look forward to seeing plenty of locals down on the sand cheering her on against the world’s best.

Joining India will be the winners of the Rip Curl Pro Trials. The event features the top Victorian surfers in the state, as they battle it out for a wildcard into the main event. The Rip Curl Pro Trials were held Saturday 23rd March.

This event not only brings amazing economic benefit to the local community but also provides the next generation of surfers the chance to get up close to their surfing heroes.

We are privileged to be able to watch the world’s best surfers up close from the beach during the event and in the water during free surfs.

The Rip Curl Pro has prided itself on being an event that values inclusivity and we continued to work with the Surf Coast Shire in 2024 to improve the accessibility of the event.

This is inclusive of features to support physical accessibility, along with the introduction of some new sensory-friendly event elements to support those on the autism spectrum.

We also urge all spectators travelling to attend the event to please be vigilant (particularly at dawn and dusk) and aware of your surroundings for wildlife crossing the road.

For more information on ticketing, accessibility, bus schedule and onsite activities head to www.surfingvic.com/rip-curl-pro

A massive thank you goes out to Rip Curl, the Victorian government, Bonsoy, World Surf League and the Surf Coast Shire who are committed and long-term supporters of the event.

I look forward to seeing everyone down at the event and hope we will see some great waves over the waiting period at Bells Beach.
