Introducing the ONERO program at Back In Motion Bacchus Marsh
OUR trained ONERO practitioners Shobha Gangappa and Delfran De Costa will lead this specialised program, and expressions of interest are now open.
Living with osteoporosis and advised to exercise, but not sure where to start?
Research shows that not all exercise improves bone strength. Bones respond best to targeted, high-intensity resistance and impact training, performed safely under professional supervision.
That’s exactly what ONERO provides. It is an award-winning, evidence-based exercise program developed from world-leading research into bone health and fracture prevention.
The right exercise for stronger bones
Scientific evidence confirms that ONERO – a supervised, bone-targeted training program – can significantly reduce fracture risk in postmenopausal women and older men with low to very low bone mass.
When delivered under professional supervision, the program improves bone density, muscle strength, posture, balance and physical function.
Building balance and preventing falls
Falls are a major cause of fractures in older adults.
ONERO combines bone strengthening exercise with training that improves leg strength, balance, coordination and mobility, helping reduce fracture risk through both stronger bones and safer movement.
Fully supervised and personalised
ONERO is not a general fitness class. Sessions are delivered only by trained professionals with the clinical expertise to work safely with bone health conditions.
At Back In Motion Bacchus Marsh, sessions are supervised by licensed practitioners Shobha Gangappa and Delfran De Costa, ensuring personalised care and safe progression.
Exercises are tailored to each individual and delivered in a supportive small-group environment.

Ongoing monitoring
Participants complete simple functional assessments alongside bone health screening to track progress and contribute to ongoing international research into the safety and effectiveness of the ONERO program.
For many older adults, fear of falling can lead to avoiding activity, which may weaken muscles and bones.
The right exercise, done correctly, can build confidence for everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, gardening and carrying groceries.
