BOOK lovers and aspiring writers are invited to attend a panel discussion with Moorabool authors on Saturday 15 November at Bacchus Marsh Public Hall.
Part of the Bacchus Marsh Strawberry and Cherry Festival, the event will feature Allyse Near, Holly Brunnbauer, Wayne Marshall and Jem Tyley-Miller, with moderation by Matt Romania.
Attendees can also meet the authors, take photos with them and buy copies of their books which have been signed.
Tyley-Miller said speaking about her work with local people is an opportunity she values.
“It will give readers a chance to discover new voices, and, for those starting out on their writing journey, the space to be inspired by what’s possible, while also gathering tools for their writer’s toolkit,” she said.
Marshall may be familiar to locals as one of the organisers of the Peter Carey Short Story Award and Moorabool Young Writers’ Awards.
“It’s fantastic to have an opportunity to speak about my own writing at a local event,” he said.

“We have a wealth of creative writing talent in our shire, and it’s great for a panel such as this to showcase that to the community.”
Brunnbauer said the panel is a chance to celebrate and uplift Bacchus Marsh and Moorabool talent.
“I hope attendees leave feeling inspired, knowing that creative dreams are not only possible but happening right here at home,” she said.
Near said she enjoys talking about her craft with other likeminded people and unpacking a story.
As reading and writing are both solitary pursuits, it’s such a joy to be able to come together and celebrate books as part of a community,” she said.
Romania is also a local author who recently released the book, Heart and Soul of Marketing. The talk will run from 11am to 12pm. Visit MooraboolAuthors.com.
