Emma Muir to contest Eureka

Farmer and small business owner Emma Muir will contest the seat of Eureka for the Liberal Party at the state election on Saturday 28 November.

Muir lives at Myrniong with husband Peter and their family where they run a family farming business, and she is the founder of the Moorabool and Central Highlands Power Alliance.

In 2024 she was named Moorabool’s Citizen of the Year.

“People across Eureka are working harder than ever, yet they’re paying more for electricity, more in taxes and more at the checkout, while getting less from their government,” she said.

Muir said residents deserved better roads, reliable health services, safer neighbourhoods and a government that listened.

Muir said she understood the importance of standing up for people when governments did not listen.

“I’ve spent years fighting alongside local residents to protect our communities and make sure regional voices are heard,” she said. “Now I’m putting my hand up because Eureka deserves a strong local representative who will always stand up for our community.”

Muir said she would advocate for safer towns and cities, better local infrastructure, lower household costs and a fair deal for regional Victoria.

“This election is an opportunity to restore common sense to government and deliver the fresh start that families across Eureka deserve,” she said.
