Nominate a local hero for Geelong getaway
Community members are being encouraged to shine a spotlight on the everyday heroes who quietly make a difference, with nominations now open for a premium Geelong getaway prize.
Whether it is a neighbour who is always willing to help, a dedicated volunteer, an inspiring teacher, a selfless carer or a friend who consistently puts others first, the competition aims to recognise those whose contributions often go unnoticed.
One deserving local hero will receive a two-night Geelong getaway for four people, featuring apartment-style accommodation at Quest Geelong Central, tickets to a live performance at Geelong Arts Centre and a dining experience at a hamo Hospitality venue.
The prize also offers the opportunity to experience Geelong’s renowned waterfront, thriving dining scene and cultural attractions.
The Geelong Arts Centre performance must be selected from shows running between October 8 and October 11, 2026, subject to availability. Accommodation at Quest Geelong Central and the dining experience may be booked for another date, also subject to availability.
The competition is open to residents across the Ballarat, Bendigo, Moorabool and McIvor regions.
Community members are invited to complete the nomination form and share the story of someone they believe deserves to be recognised.
Whether the nominee has made a difference to one individual or an entire community, organisers are encouraging people to acknowledge those whose kindness, generosity and commitment help make local communities stronger.
Nominations are now open, with residents encouraged to submit their local hero’s story and help give them the recognition they deserve.
