THE Northern Rivers Wildlife Hospital at Wollongbar is hosting a live charity auction to help support its lifesaving work and critical care for animals across the region.
The Call of the Wild event will be held at Marvell Hall in Byron Bay on Saturday, November 15.
The event will be hosted by popular broadcaster Angela Catterns and led by Sotheby’s real estate auctioneer Denzil Lloyd.
Funds raised on the night will go towards a specific need, including feeding a patient for a week, sponsoring an overnight stay, or supporting a vet for a month.
There will also be artworks and other prizes up for grabs in the silent auction with all money raised going towards the hospital.
The purpose-built facility services seven local government areas across the region and has been a vital service since its opening earlier this year.

Its general manager Bronte Potts said the event has come at a crucial time.
“Spring has always been trauma season for wildlife, but this year we are really being pushed,” she said.
“Our hospital has been overflowing with patients, and our team has worked tirelessly to provide the best possible care.
“Our wildlife can’t ask for help, but we can give it, and stepping up to protect them also safeguards the biodiversity of our region.”
“It’s not just a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of what we can achieve together for our local wildlife.”
There will also be a short film documentary, live music and insights from guest speakers into wildlife care and treatments.
