CAROLS in the Heart will feature Lismore actress and singer Rachael Beck with the event to be held on a Saturday night for the first time on December 5.
The event at Crozier Field moves from a Sunday afternoon after a storm saw the 2024 carols cancelled on late notice.
Beck has appeared in Australian musical theatre productions after a major role on the popular sitcom Hey Dad..!
She was in an award-winning role as Belle opposite Hugh Jackman in Beauty and the Beast, which won the 1996 ARIA Award for the Best Australian Soundtrack/Cast/Show Release.
“I am so excited to be coming back to my hometown of Lismore and entertaining with the cream of local talent,” she said.
“My heart will always belong to the Northern Rivers and Christmas means so much to me. It’s great to be home celebrating it.”
Support acts include local and national artists Rhydian and the Residuals, Bunny Racket, Isabella A Capella, Luke Vasella and Hillbilly Skank.
The evening will conclude with a laser light show, lighting up the night sky and capturing the wonder of the festive season.
“Carols in the Heart is a chance for our community to come together and celebrate this special time of year with our friends and families,” Lismore mayor Steve Krieg said.
“It’s an evening filled with music and Christmas cheer, and a reminder of what makes our city such a wonderful place to live,” he said.
Gates open at 3pm with food vendors and family entertainment on site.
Other events confirmed throughout December include Santa’s Wonderland at the Lismore Regional Gallery, family and animal portraits at The Quad, shop and spin prizes and elf hunts across shop-front windows in the region.
