Passenger dies in Tweed Heads crash, driver leaves scene

A MAN has died and two others remain unaccounted for after a car rolled in Tweed Heads.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Heffron Street and Oxley Street, Tweed Heads South, about 10.30pm on March 30 following reports a sedan had crashed.

Police were told the vehicle left the road and rolled before hitting a boulder.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a front seat passenger, believed to be aged in his 30s, but he died at the scene.
The driver and a second passenger left before police arrived.
Officers from Tweed Byron Police District have launched an investigation with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit under Strike Force Dartglen.
Police are working to locate the driver and establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
