AT Byron Community College, women lead, teach, mentor, and inspire across every part of the organisation.

From CEO Anne Stovin to Operations Manager Louise Hargrave Smith, alongside a dedicated team of trainers and support staff, women form the heart of the College’s leadership and daily operations.

Collectively, they bring experience, empathy, strength, and vision to programming, student care, and community leadership.

Their approach is collaborative and values-driven, ensuring that education is not only about qualifications, but about confidence, belonging, and opportunity.

The College community itself reflects this diversity of women.

We welcome young women from 15 years of age through to lifelong learners in their 80s and 90s — each bringing their own stories, aspirations, and contributions.

Some come to gain employment skills, some to retrain or change careers, others to learn something new or simply to connect with others in a supportive environment.

At Byron Community College, education is transformative.

It creates pathways to employment, builds practical skills, fosters wellbeing, and strengthens community connections.

What makes the College truly unique is its culture of care — care for students, for learners, for one another, and for the broader community.

Together, the women of Byron Community College share a collective purpose: to make the world a better place by providing education, employment, and wellbeing opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen our community.
