Award recognition continues to benefit Indigo Wolf

NEARLY a year after being named Business Leader of the Year at the Torquay Business Awards, Indigo Wolf owner Nathan Sayers says the recognition continues to pay dividends.
For a business that has grown largely through reputation and referrals, the award helped shine a spotlight on Indigo Wolf's work and introduce it to a wider audience.
"We built our business via word of mouth, so many people – unless they had used us – may not have been aware of what we actually did," Sayers said.
"To win the award last year certainly caught us off guard considering the strong competition. People don't often see the long hours you put into building a business, so it's really recognition for all the hard work over many years."
Founded on the Surf Coast in 2010, Indigo Wolf supplies custom sportswear, leavers' apparel and teamwear to schools, sporting clubs and businesses nationwide, with a strong focus on sustainability.
Sayers attributes the company's success to its customer-first approach and commitment to quality.
"We pay close attention to detail, considering each garment's purpose and desired outcome for our client," he said.
"We live and breathe the community, and I think that comes across in our product and with what we are trying to do at Indigo Wolf."
That approach was recognised by the judging panel last year, but Sayers said the benefits have continued well beyond the presentation night.
"Even months later, people would mention it when we ran into them," he said.
"We had many people reaching out from all over the country congratulating us.
"It's helped us foster and nurture new relationships with clients across the country, as well as strengthen and consolidate our existing relationships. It has helped grow and promote the company in more ways than we could ever imagine."
On the back of that experience, Sayers encouraged other businesses to consider entering this year's awards.
"We'd recommend it to other businesses, absolutely," he said.
"It's not only great for brand recognition and community engagement, but the event is really well run by Commerce Torquay. [It is] led by a group of passionate, professional locals who genuinely care about local business."
