YOUNG people across the Surf Coast will have a place to gather, play and connect during the winter school holidays, with free drop-in sessions returning to Anglesea, Lorne and Winchelsea.
The Surf Coast Shire’s youth team will host the free sessions throughout the break, offering food, games, music and activities for young people aged 10 to 17.
Run by two youth workers, the sessions are designed to provide a relaxed and welcoming space where young people can spend time with friends, meet new people and enjoy a range of activities.
“We want to see increased social connections across the community, including for our youth,” councillor Leon Walker said.
“The drop-in sessions offer an opportunity to get out of the house these school holidays and get together for some relaxed fun.
“Other ways to get out the house include utilising community, sport and recreation facilities across the shire.”
Sessions will be held at the Stribling Reserve Community Pavilion in Lorne on 29 June and 6 July, the Winchelsea Shire Hall on 1 July and 8 July, and Anglesea Community House on 3 July and 10 July.
All sessions will run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, with young people welcome to attend for part or all of the afternoon. No registration is required.
