COMMERCIAL property group Neim has expanded into Geelong, opening a new office in Newtown to better support one of Victoria’s fastest-growing regions.

For founder Arton Meka, the move is about being closer to the people, projects and communities shaping the future of Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast.

The move was only ever going to be possible with the right person, and Bellarine-based retail property specialist Ange Cahill’s local knowledge and strong community ties made her the natural choice.

With more than 25 years’ experience in commercial and retail property, Ange has worked with major companies including Mirvac, Woolworths, Dan Murphy’s, Coles Myer and Bakers Delight.

“I’ve always had a passion for transforming spaces into thriving, retail-friendly places,” Ange said.

“I’m excited to work in the community I love and raise my family on the Bellarine Peninsula.

“Helping drive Neim’s expansion into Geelong and the surrounding areas is a dream come true. I can’t wait to help connect developers with the right tenants and support better retail outcomes for the region.”

Neim works with developers, landlords and retailers to bring retail projects to life. This includes advising on which businesses to target, how to position a project, when to approach the market and how to structure deals that support long-term success.

Its Geelong office will focus on projects across Geelong, Armstrong Creek, Mount Duneed, the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast and surrounding growth areas.

Neim is already involved in major local retail projects including Mt Duneed Village, Warralily Quarter, The Square Ashbury and Charlemont Rise, while also advising on other opportunities across Greater Geelong.

The move comes as Geelong continues to grow rapidly. New homes, new communities, infrastructure investment and a stronger local economy are creating greater demand for retail, food, health, lifestyle and convenience services.

As more people move into the region, new town centres are being planned and older centres are evolving to meet changing community needs.

Ange said successful retail projects start with understanding the local market.

“Every community is different,” she said. “What works in one suburb may not work in another.

“Strong retail leasing is about understanding the people who live there, the businesses they need and the right mix of tenants to support the area long-term.”

Ange said Geelong, the Bellarine and Surf Coast each have their own identity.

“That is what makes this region so exciting,” she said.

“You have young families moving into growth corridors, long-standing local communities, strong tourism areas and lifestyle-driven coastal towns.

“The right retail mix can make a real difference to how people live, shop and connect.”

Neim’s approach is to combine local insight with strong retail relationships across Victoria.

For the Geelong region, Neim says its focus will be on building long-term relationships, supporting local growth and helping create retail places that genuinely serve their communities.
