PRIVATELY owned and created by a well-known professional landscape designer, North Haven Garden promises plenty of leafy inspiration for all determined to make the most of its upcoming opening.

The garden is located in Ballarat North and will be open to visitors on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February as part of the Open Gardens Victoria program.

North Haven is a secluded little patch of paradise that has been created over nearly a decade by owner, professional landscape designer Paddy Milne, of award-winning local business The Scape Artist.

Visitors enter through stone pillars and a bespoke Oregon timber gate into a calm, private sanctuary containing tranquillity and landscaping gems.

Within, the north-facing courtyard offers lush planting, a daybed and a wood-fired pizza oven, while the raised semi-circular lawn at the rear provides space for play and relaxation.

Upright steel bars define the lawn’s edge, keeping toddlers in and Brahma hens out, while the surrounding perennial borders are filled with ornamental grasses, shrubs and vibrant seasonal colour.

With a developing canopy and layered planting throughout, North Haven is a garden where strong structure meets soft, immersive planting to create a desirable suburban retreat.

Some of the proceeds from the opening will be donated to Ballarat’s WRISC Family Violence Support.

This local green oasis can be found at 13 Loren Close and will be open from 10am to 4.30pm over the weekend. A coffee cart will be available on site.
