CATERING and culinary doyen Peter Ford is preparing to share his skills with keen cooks during the first event as part of his 2020 masterclass series.

Using produce from across the region, the 29 March event will focus on apples and 321 Cider, taking place at Springvale Farm in Weatherboard, just outside Learmonth.

The masterclass comes after Peter Ford Catering recently celebrated two decades of successful business in Ballarat and the wider district.

“I’m fortunate to have forged some great alliances with local suppliers and producers over the 20 years since Peter Ford Catering was established,” Mr Ford said.

“I am thrilled to be able to collaborate with four of them for our immersive, educational and on-location masterclass series for 2020. 321 Cider in Learmonth, Latta Vino at Eastern Peak Winery in Coghills Creek, Inglenook Dairy in Dunnstown and Grounded Pleasures in the heart of Ballarat.”

It’s not just cooking skills on the menu. The class will include meet and great coffee from 10am and a tour of the apple cider orchard at Springvale Farm where owner Marilyn Cormie will discuss the unique ins and outs of 321’s apple based alcoholic beverages.

The masterclass will go from 11am for two hours and afterwards attendees will be able to lunch on the creations and keep the recipes so you can cook them up again at home.

Tickets for the first of Peter Ford’s 2020 masterclasses are limited so bookings are essential and can be made via stickytickets.com.au/peterfordcatering/events.

There will be three more opportunities throughout the year with events set for Eastern Peake Vineyard in May, Inglenook Dairy in July and Grounded Pleasures in August.
