PLEASANT Street Primary School’s iconic event, Christmas Fest by the Lake is back with a new supporter.

Sponsored by Forty Winks, the fest on Friday, 6 December from 4pm to 8pm will have its regular attractions like Santa’s Cave, show bags, rides, and the huge market which is the perfect one-stop shop for all things Christmas.

Christmas Fest by the Lake Committee Chair, Adam Henderson said over 4000 people are expected to visit the school for the event which has been “growing from year to year.

“We’ve been fortunate enough this year to get over 150 stalls booked and paid for,” he said. “We’ve got six rides, a showbag van, we’ll have a one-man band on stage performing, live music and busking happening, with plenty of food and beverages to enjoy.”

All funds generated will go back into the school’s programs.

“This event’s a big deal for the school, just to create some additional funds. Our Assistant Principal, Helen Romeril, is very literacy focussed, so any chance she gets to buy books, she’ll do it,” Mr Henderson said.

“The funds help her buy additional things to help kids progress and increase their strengths.”

Mr Henderson said the school is excited by their first year of having a naming rights sponsor.

“This year, Forty Winks have come on board for the next couple of years. It helps the school be able to create and maintain programs already there.”
