Next stop wine o’clock

MICHAEL Unwin Wines was the latest location in the district to receive a decommissioned W-Class tram last Friday.

Owner Michael Unwin, who relocated the winery’s cellar door to Windermere from Beaufort at the start of the year, said he was yet to decide what exactly he’ll do with the heritage tram.

“We’re going to do it up first,” he said. “Then we’ll sit in it and drink wine and turn 50 and 60 and 70. When you look inside you see it’s beautifully wooden lined, you really want to hang out in it.”
