BMS still undefeated in Monday Pennant

UNLIKE Saturday’s comp, which was abandoned for a second week due to rain, Monday Pennant rolled on for its seventh round.

Although very windy conditions prevailed all players were pleased that the sun finally shone. There were some very interesting results at the end of the day.

PREMIERS

BMS remains the only team that has won all games and occupies top position on the ladder. They had a very convincing win against City Oval winning by the margin of 58 shots, all rinks up. BMS are in top position 14 shots clear of second placed Buninyong. Other winners were Central Wendouree with a 17-shot win over Midlands, Sebastopol defeated Clunes by four, Buninyong were the winners against Daylesford by 13. The closest match was between Avenue and Creswick with Avenue being victorious by two shots. Round eight should see some very close games as Central Wendouree play BMS, City Oval play Buninyong, Creswick meet Daylesford, Midlands play Clunes and Sebastopol play Avenue.

DIVISION 1

Ladder leader Victoria is the standout team, topping the table by 10 points. Beaufort playing at home were victorious over Buninyong. The closest game was between Webbcona and City Oval.    Top four is Victoria, Smeaton, City Oval and Webbcona. The game of Round 8 will be between ladder leader Victoria and second placed Smeaton.

DIVISION 2

Only two points separate the first two places. Central Wendouree leads Smeaton followed by Learmonth and BMS. There were some very close games as Central Wendouree defeated Invermay by five shots, and Daylesford snuck home by one.

DIVISION 3

Victoria were victorious by two shots over Mt Xavier, Creswick, Smeaton, Central Wendouree and Webbcona were also winners. Ladder leader is Creswick followed by Webbcona, Smeaton and Victoria.

Division 4

Ballarat North are the clear leaders by 20 points over second placed Beaufort, followed by Bungaree and Creswick.  Round winners were Beaufort Ballarat North, Bungaree, Creswick, Victoria and Central Wendouree.

Due to the Victorian Open Carnival being played next week there will not be any Monday Pennant.   Round 8 will go on 25 November.
