THE community is invited to take part in a free soccer skills session at St Patrick’s College tomorrow organised by Liverpool Football Club’s International Academy Australia.

St Patrick’s College became a partner school to the academy late last year and the session will be open to children aged six to 16 of all genders and all abilities.

The stories of current Liverpool players Missy Bo Kearnes and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be used as inspiration to attendees about what they can achieve.

“Participants will be exposed to an authentic LFC session close to home,” said Kevin Grima, technical director at the academy.

“Both of these players have gone through the Liverpool Academy as children and now they play for their respective first teams.”

In the future, the academy is set to host more clinics and programs in Ballarat and this session is designed to be a taster of these planned events.

“Our overarching purpose is to give attendees a taste of what our program will look like,” said Mr Grima.

“In time we are going to have after school offerings at St Patrick’s College and that will include school holiday clinics and after school programs.”

Mr Grima said he hopes children who attend the event feel inspired.

“I hope they have fun and get exposed to an authentic LFC session close to home,” he said.

The free taster clinic will include 30-minute sessions running from 9.30am until 2.30pm on Saturday 1 June.
