A LARGE contingent of supporters from Central Wendouree Bowling Club travelled to the Bendigo East Bowling
Club late last month to support member Col Johnson in his quest to win the State Champion of Champions Title.

Johnson was representing the Central Victoria Region.

In the first round he had a comfortable win over the Ovens & Murray Region reprehensive.

However, in the second round he played a strong opponent representing Northern Gateway.

Col started the game winning the first end scoring two. By end five he was up by three shots and bowling well.

It was a drawn game on end seven, but his opponent gained his composure and found his line and length.

It was then neck and neck for the next few ends and by end 15 Col had secured a three-shot lead.

With very consistent bowling and great accuracy the Northern Gateway player edged in front and claimed the win.

It was an outstanding game of the highest standard and a pleasure to witness.
